24.2 megapixel APS-C sized CMOS sensor, DIGIC 6 image processor

The EOS M3 digital camera is designed to inspire, bringing true EOS performance and image quality in a compact, stylish, and elegant package.

The EOS M3 is an ideal EOS for many applications, including portraiture, landscape, travel, and everything in between. It is a joy to use and has the sophistication to create stunning still and moving images.

The EOS M3 captures high-resolution images and full HD movies suitable for almost any application thanks to its large 24.2 megapixel APS-C sized CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6 image processor.

Its lightweight, mirrorless body and interchangeable lenses bring the EOS system to a whole new level of portability without sacrificing performance.

Functions of CANON EOS M3

Don't be fooled by its small size; the EOS M3 is a fast and powerful camera. The functions of the EOS M3 are classified below.

Travel Photography

Its Hybrid CMOS AF III technology makes auto-focusing simple, reliable, and quick, even faster than the Canon EOS M camera series' predecessors. This feature is most useful when recording videos or photographing fast-moving objects.

The Hybrid CMOS AF III technology allows for 6.1 times faster autofocus than the first generation of Hybrid CMOS AF technology, so it improves.

Because the Canon EOS M3 is mirrorless, it has a significantly lower overall weight, which is why it is less bulky and more portable.

PROS

  • Sensor with Very High Resolution: 24.0MP
  • It has live-view
  • It size is small and light in weight

CONS

  • The camera's Auto ISO feature only allows you to change the highest ISO setting, not the shutter speeds at which it changes.

Landscape Photography

It has a 3-inch 1,040-dot tilt type Touch LCD monitor and serves as your live viewfinder.

The screen's colors and resolution are excellent. There is no visible lag with the screen, nor is the color rendition accurate. The touch screen on this device is smooth, precise, and responsive. This is one of the better mirrorless camera touch screens on the market right now.

It has a tap to focus feature, which allows you to tap anywhere on the screen and it will focus as best as it can. It focuses 8 to 9 times out of 10, which is a good number. It struggles in low light or when the subject has little contrast.

PROS

  • Sensor size: APS-C (22.3 x 14.9 mm).
  • High image quality

CONS

  • It doesn't have environmental sealings

Vlogging

Photographs help to preserve precious moments in our lives by overcoming the limitations of time and space. The more beautiful and crisp a moment is captured, the stronger its reminiscence power. And this is why, when it comes to compact cameras, nothing beats the new Canon EOS M3.

Canon EOS M3 videos are high-definition (1080p at 30 frames per second) MP4 files, while continuous full-resolution shooting captures images at 4.2 frames per second.

With the WiFi and NFC capabilities of this camera, you can also upload your photos and videos online for easy sharing, as well as back up your work in the cloud.

You can back up manually or use the Image Sync feature to synchronize with either your smartphone or your personal computer.

PROS

  • It comes with an awesome video quality
  • Low light performance

CONS

  • It does not have a headphone jack.

Sport & Wildlife Photography

Outdoor sports can be difficult to photograph in good or bad weather. On a sunny day, ISO 400 is a good starting point.

When using aperture priority, increase the ISO to achieve faster shutter speeds. Increase the ISO to 1250 in cloudy conditions and even under artificial lighting.

Despite the higher-resolution sensor necessitating smaller individual pixels, the EOS M3's high-ISO performance is quite good for a 24MP APS-C camera and is actually better than mirrorless cameras based on smaller Four Thirds sensors, though not quite as good as the best APS-C competitors.
