The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300 is a bridge camera that was released on July 16, 2015. Technically, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300 ranks in the top 5% of its category (and in the top 75 of all cameras in our database), with a score of 51.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300 measures 132 x 92 x 117 mm and weighs 691 g. This makes it one of the largest and heaviest cameras in its class.

In terms of performance, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300 outperforms the competition.

Functions of PANASONIC FZ300

The excellent Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300 superzoom camera features a fixed-aperture lens with a long focal range, 4K video, and instant autofocus. Below are other functions.

Travel Photography

While a bit bulky for a camera with a 1/2.3-inch sensor, the camera body is easy to handle and it provides a lot of control and comfort in the field.

The built-in lens proved to be powerful and versatile, with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 from 25 to 600mm equivalent focal lengths. Corner sharpness suffered when using the lens wide open, especially at the telephoto end of the lens.

However, at the wide angle end of the lens, performance was excellent across the entire frame.

The Panasonic FZ300's built-in lens is undoubtedly one of the camera's most impressive features, given its generous zoom ratio and constant f/2.8 aperture.

PROS

  • The battery life is adequate.
  • Quick autofocus

CONS

  • Extremely costly.
  • Image quality is improved with larger-sensor super zooms.

Landscape Photography

Landscape photography is done outside, and the PANASONIC FZ300 is ready for any weather condition.

Even though this digital camera is modern and has advanced algorithms to calculate the proper exposure, it may fail in some difficult conditions.

Manual exposure mode is extremely helpful in these conditions for achieving proper exposure. You can make fine adjustments to the focus with the manual focus mode.

This camera's raw files contain significantly more color information than JPEGs, giving you more room for post-processing without significant quality loss.

The 12.0MP resolution of the Panasonic FZ300 is not ideal for landscape photography, but with proper framing and technique, you can still achieve large prints.

PROS

  • Camera with a wide field of view
  • Excellent performance
  • Images that are sharp

CONS

  • The zoom range isn't as extensive as some.

Vlogging

This camera has all of the features that make vlogging more convenient. 4k recording at 30/24 fps is a fantastic feature. It can switch to 1080p at 60/30 frames per second.

Keep in mind, however, that you may not need to record in such high quality. This is only useful if your vlogging relies heavily on visual experience.

Its flip screen is ideal for vlogging because you can check your recording in real time and ensure that everything is fine while recording.

With built-in wireless, you can instantly upload videos and use your smartphone as a remote control for your camera.

The autofocus system will not be audible in your videos because it is fast and silent. It will also come in handy if you want to do some action vlogging, though the camera is a little heavy for that.

Even though the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300 has excellent autofocus, manual mode is always useful.

If you won't be moving around much, you can set the focus to a fixed point and stop worrying about being focused.

It also has a full manual mode for getting the best possible results. You can avoid unnecessary noise in your videos this way. Its battery life is adequate, with 380 shots being around the average for it.

PROS

  • Burst shooting at 12.4fps.
  • 4K resolution video.

CONS

  • Unsuitable for vlogging without a tripod.

Sport & Wildlife Photography

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300 is ideal for sports photography, and it is one of the best in its class.

5-axis HYBRID O.I.S.+ is an advanced image stabilization system that minimizes the appearance of blur when shooting one-handed video. It helps to compensate for camera shake when recording HD movies.

It compensates for five types of camera shake that commonly affect more dynamic movement types when recording while moving.

A Level Shot Function detects the horizon line within scenes and helps to keep it level even if the camera is tilted, which benefits from the image stabilization system.

PROS

  • Strong images at high ISO for its class.
  • Capture of raw images.
  • High image stabilization.

CONS

  • Camera body too big.
